The Gift Cards
Did you know that consumers are 10 times more likely to use a gift card, vs. a paper certificate?
I am not going to bore you with more statistics on why gift cards work or why they are superior to paper gift certificates, for that, please go to our 99 Reason to Start a Ufinity Rewards Program or our Resources page. We have plenty of documentation there. But what I want to do here is explain why Ufinity Gift Cards are unique and the best marketing value out there.
At Ufinity, we give you three options for gift cards; use whichever one makes the most sense for your restaurant and goals.
- Sell and redeem our Ufinity Gift Cards
- Sell a Ufinity co-branded gift card and redeem both
- Sell your own gift card and redeem all three
Option 1: As you can see, you must redeem the Ufinity Gift Card no matter what option you choose. This is a key component of our program. This is our coalition card that we sell on your behalf on our website, at fairs, to corporations, as fundraisers, any place we can to drive more business to your location. If you sell them, we supply the cards, presenters and marketing material and we pay you 30% commission on the sale price, straight profit, for every card you sell. When the card is redeemed at your location, or another location within the coalition, the redeeming restaurant gets 65% of the value redeemed. We keep 5% to cover the cost of the cards, presenters, marketing material, and for the ACH charges for pooling the coalition funds.
As you can probably see, we don’t make any money off this option, which is just fine with us. It does, however, provide a method to mass promote all independents within our membership. The Ufinity Card opens the door for us to run contests, do radio station giveaways, direct mail pieces with a preset value on the cards, etc, etc. All ways we can act like a large chain, but driving sales to local independent restaurants like yours.
The 2nd option is a co-branded card which works the same as the Ufinity Card. When you sell them, you get 30%, the redeeming restaurant gets 65% and we keep 5%. The difference is that you’ll have them custom made with your business, picture, logo, address, whatever, on the card. We don’t supply the card or presenter but will have them produced and sold to you for a reduced price by chipping in a portion of the Ufinity Card cost. The bottom line is you’ll pay less than you would on your own. The co-branding part is that we require that a small Ufinity logo be placed in the bottom, right hand corner, like a VISA logo. This card will be redeemable at any Ufinity member restaurant. The benefit is that the customer has a card with your name on it that they carry around. It does increase the likely hood that they will redeem the card at your establishment.
The 3rd option is to have and sell your own gift card. We will work with you to design a card for you. There is a small monthly fee to run this optional program and a small transaction charge that is not included in the Ufinity Rewards Program. The benefits are that you sell the card, keep all the money and the card has to be redeemed at your location. This program can be run by any merchant services company for you, but we guarantee to meet or beat any price they offer you to run it.
As you can see, you can sell options 1 and 2 or 1 and 3 or just 1, 2, or 3 individually. We recommend that you always give your customers the option of buying the Ufinity Card, but no matter which option you choose, the Ufinity Card will be working constantly to bring you new customers, new business and new revenue. The options you choose are based on your budget and your desires. Selling the Ufinity Card helps us all in our mission to fight back against the chains and costs less. Having your own card costs the most, but all the money comes back to you, 100%. Option 2 is somewhere in the middle.
